A site that works
Functions that make your website do real work
What you get
Runs on the server
API keys and secret values stay out of the page code. A function reads them from Variables on the server, so visitors never see them.
Works with data and email
A function reads and writes the collections of your database, sends email from the site address and can call payment, delivery or messaging APIs.
Every version kept
When the AI changes a function, the earlier version stays in its History tab, with who made the change. You can also switch a function off without deleting it.
How it works
- 1
Step 1
Describe the action
In the chat, say what should happen, for example save the booking and email me the details. The AI creates the function and it appears in the Functions tab.
- 2
Step 2
Test it safely
Open the function, fill in its inputs and click Run the test. You see the result, the data it would save and the emails it would send, and nothing is stored.
- 3
Step 3
Publish the site
Functions answer in the editor preview and on the published site. Every call shows up in the Calls tab with its status and how long it took.
Frequently asked questions
It is code that runs on the server only when a page calls it, with no server for you to rent or maintain. On Website each function has a name, typed inputs and a list of the collections it reads and writes.
No. You describe the job in plain words and the AI writes, names and describes the function for you. You can see what it does, test it with your own values and switch it off at any time.
Yes. A function can call any public API over the internet. Save the API key in Variables and the function reads it on the server, so the key never appears in the code of your pages.
