A site that works

Tasks that run on their own, on your schedule

A scheduled task does one job at the times you set, whether or not anyone visits the site: a Monday report, a nightly cleanup or an hourly sync with another service.

What you get

  • Three kinds of action

An HTTP request to any address, one of your site functions with its input, or a short piece of JavaScript that can read your data and send email.

  • Any schedule, any time zone

Pick every minute or every few minutes, hourly, daily, weekly or monthly, or write a five field cron expression. The form shows the upcoming runs before you save.

  • History of every run

Each run is saved with its status, duration, attempts and output. A run can take up to 30 seconds, and a failed scheduled run can be retried up to three times.

How it works

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Create a task

In Studio, open Tasks and click New task, or ask the AI to build it for you. Give it a name and choose how often it runs.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Choose the action

Pick HTTP request, Site function or Inline code, fill in the details and click Test to try it with your unsaved changes.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Watch the runs

Use Run now for an extra run at any time, pause or resume the task, and follow every result in the Runs tab and in Statistics.

Frequently asked questions

A cron job is a task that runs automatically at set times. You need one when something must happen regularly without anyone clicking, like sending a weekly summary or clearing old entries every night.
